Story of ARTS

It is rooted in years of Research and Development at Robotics Labs in Sweden and Germany. What started as a spin off from a Ph.D. project is now quickly becoming the new standard of driving evaluations worldwide.

What does ARTS offer?

Our goal is to provide a safer driving environment, where learners, instructors, and agencies benefit from deeper insights and better data. ARTS improves the safety, accuracy, and efficiency to the DMVs, and State Licensing Agencies.

Why ARTS?

For nearly 100 years, the driving test has relied on a human with a clipboard. They can be subjective, stressful, and limited by human attention. Even the best examiners can’t capture every detail. ARTS solves this by:

Who is ARTS for?

ARTS is a solution that is tailor made for agencies that conduct the driving license tests like the Department of Motor Vehicles, Motor Vehicle Division, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, etc. However, the applications of this technology are beyond just the driving skills testing, expanding to the learning, teaching, and monitoring of the driving skills.

Pilot Project: AI-Driven Driving Evaluation

Through a synergistic collaboration between QTPIE and Virginia DMV, the VA ARTS system has been tailor made for the traffic rules and the examiner specifications in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The pilot project of more than 18 months gave us an unique opportunity to learn from the DMV examiners and has generated promising results with a planned deployment in Q4 2025. Vision

At QTPIE, we believe that the future of driving tests is no driving test at all.
